Edwin our villain, it seems, has to answer a charge of breach of promise or marriage to Angelina.  The court is not well disposed to Edwin and warms to his intended, and indeed the bridesmaids, especially the foreman of the jury and the judge.

Indeed the Judge, settles the matter by marrying Angelina himself!
