A Rough Guide

A handsome poet (Bunthorne) is loved by all the young ladies of the village.

Our heroine, a beautiful rustic milkmaid (Patience), informs the ladies that they are engaged to the soon to arrive (no 3, Act I) Dragoon Guards (cue smart uniforms).

Meanwhile Patience meets up with Grosvenor, her long-lost childhood playmate; they fall in love and get engaged.

As ever, much confusion follows...who will win Patience...who will end up with a partner at all?
